The PM type oil free scroll air compressor uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor directly coupled to the scroll compression element, delivering 100% oil-free air from 2.2 kW to 55 kW (3-75 hp) at 8-10 bar. Compared with a fixed-speed compressor it typically saves 10-30% energy, and because there is no gearbox, belt or coupling, noise and vibration stay low – around 50 dB in the small models.
Key features
- Permanent magnet motor. IE5-class PMSM with direct drive removes belt and coupling losses, and holds high efficiency at partial load.
- 1-10 scroll units in one compressor. Capacity is built up from parallel scroll modules, so 7.5 kW, 11 kW, 15 kW, 18.5 kW up to 55 kW are covered by one platform.
- 10-30% energy saving. Variable frequency control matches output to actual air demand, with the biggest gains where consumption fluctuates.
- Scientific air circulation cooling. A dedicated duct keeps the motor and scroll element at a stable temperature for a long service life.
- Intelligent control panel. Pressure set-point, operating hours, maintenance reminder and alarm history on one screen.
- Compact footprint. Direct-coupled design is smaller and lighter than an equivalent belt-driven unit, which simplifies installation.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the PM type and the belt type?
The PM type uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor with direct drive and a variable frequency drive, so it is more efficient at partial load and quieter. The belt type uses a standard power-frequency motor and is the more economical choice for steady, full-load operation.
Can it run at 10 bar?
Yes. Standard models are rated at 0.8 MPa, and 1.0 MPa (10 bar) versions are available on request for the same frame size.
What air quality class does it reach?
The compressor itself delivers oil-free air. Combined with a refrigerated dryer and coalescing filters, the system reaches ISO 8573-1 Class 0 for oil and the corresponding class for particles and water.
